Justin Jefferson is an American professional football player for the NFL team, Minnesota Vikings. He was born on June 16, 1999, in St. Rose, Louisiana. Justin Jefferson attended high school at Destrehan High School. He was a 3-star prospect and was ranked as the 308th-best wide receiver in the country. He pursued his journey in football by committing to Louisiana State University (LSU). It was at this point that Jefferson truly began to emerge as a recognizable receiver in the country. The team had a historical season in 2019, with Jefferson recording 111 receptions and 18 touchdown receptions. His 111 receptions were the most by any receiver across the country. Jefferson created history in the Peach Bowl when he scored four touchdowns in just one half. This was a College Football Playoff record. The 2019 season culminated with Jefferson’s team winning the National Championship.

After a very successful 2019 campaign, Jefferson decided to declare for the NFL draft in 2020. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings as the number 22nd pick in the first round of the NFL draft. His transition from collegiate football to the NFL was seamless. In his rookie season, Jefferson broke the record for most number of receiving yards by a rookie with 1400 receiving yards. His performance resulted in him being named to the All-Rookie team and securing the Rookie of the Year award. He also made it to the NFL Top 100 list as the 53rd rank. Jefferson recorded over 1,600 yards in his sophomore season and made it to the Pro Bowl. He went a step further from his rookie season and secured a place in the NFL All-Pro team and made it to the Top 100 list for the second time. The 2022 campaign is reported to be Jefferson’s most successful season. His stellar performance saw him being named the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year ahead of players like Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts. He recorded 128 catches and more than 1,800 receiving yards in just 17 games. He had another 1,000 yard receiving season in 2023 eventhough he missed 7 games due to various injuries. Across four seasons, Jefferson has made it to the Pro Bowl thrice and has two All-Pro selection and one Offensive Player of the Year to his name.
