Justin Jefferson is an American football wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings as of the 2024 NFL season. He was born on June 16, 1998, in St. Rose, Louisiana. In 2024, Jefferson signed a for four years and $140 million with $110 million guaranteed. Jefferson will also receive a signing bonus of $88.743 million, the highest for a non-quarterback in league history.

Jefferson had a modest high school football career at Destrehan High School. His performance resulted in him being named a 3-star recruit. Despite his high school performance, Jefferson received offers from various colleges. He chose to commit to playing collegiate football at the University of Louisiana. In his first year in Louisiana, Jefferson was unable to record a single reception. He had a turnaround season in his second year when he became one of LSU’s leading receivers with 875 yards. In his final year at college, Jefferson had a historic performance at the Peach Bowl where he scored 4 touchdowns in just the first half of the game. This feat set the College Football Playoff game record. By the end of the season, Jefferson had 111 receptions for 1,540 yards along with 18 receiving touchdowns.

Justin Jefferson was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. In his rookie season, Jefferson set the record for the most number of receiving yards by a rookie with 1,400 receiving yards. In 2021, he was one of two rookies to be named to the Pro Bowl game. He was named Rookie of the Year and was honored with a spot on the All-Rookie Team and the NFL Top 100 list. In his sophomore season, Jefferson earned a spot in the Pro Bowl, joining elite company alongside Randy Moss and Sammy White as the only Vikings players to ever be featured in the Pro Bowl in the first 2 years of their careers. He entered the NFL top 100 list for the second consecutive year.

In 2022, Jefferson took his game to a historic level by recording 128 catches for more than 1,800 yards, for which he won the Offensive Player of the Year award alongside another Pro Bowl nod. He was also a finalist for the MVP award. In each of his first three seasons, he has been selected for the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team. He holds the record for having the most number of receiving yards and receptions for a player’s first three seasons in the NFL. He also holds the record for being the youngest player ever to lead the league in receptions and receiving yards at the age of 23. His 2023 season saw him reach the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth straight year.
