Justin Jefferson is a standout wide receiver in the NFL, playing for the Minnesota Vikings as of 2024. He was drafted in 2020 in the first round with pick number 22 by the Minnesota Vikings with whom he currently plays as WR1. Jefferson came from a sports background as his father John Jefferson played collegiate basketball and both his older brothers had great football careers at LSU.

Attending Louisiana State University (LSU) himself, Jefferson’s journey toward the NFL was pretty challenging. In his three years at LSU, he was restricted to just two games in his first year. However, his sophomore and junior years were much better production-wise which enabled him to stand out before the 2020 NFL Draft.

Justin Jefferson 40 time

Justin Jefferson ran 4.43 seconds 40-yard dash at the 2020 combine. Many analysts believed that since he shook off defenders with smart route running instead of natural speed, he was not fast enough to play in the NFL. Jefferson was one of the college receivers invited to the 2020 NFL Combine based on his performances over the past couple of years. Having entered the draft after three years at Louisiana State University (LSU), Jefferson had become one of the nation’s top receivers playing alongside Joe Burrow at quarterback.

However, with a stunning time in his 40-yard dash, Jefferson was quick to prove his doubters wrong. Today, Jefferson has all the tools in his kit that make him one of the better players in his position.

Justin Jefferson Height

Jefferson stands at a height of 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m). He is about average in terms of height for a wide receiver in the NFL. However, it was not always this way. Back when he first got to high school, Jefferson was only 5 feet 7 inches tall and the family was worried whether he would become tall enough to continue chasing his dream.

After visiting a doctor who inspected his growth plates, the family was informed that the youngest Jefferson sibling would soon hit a growth spurt. This growth spurt came in his junior year of high school and he quickly grew to his current height of 6’1”.

Any height over 6 feet is generally considered quite good for a wide receiver in the NFL. Jefferson now can make some tough over-the-head catches and can contest for other catches with the defensive backs.

Justin Jefferson Weight

The 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year weighs approximately 88kg which is considered slightly below the average for an NFL wide receiver. Typically, in this position, the players are slightly over 200 pounds.

Jefferson’s weight does not affect his performance much as he still can get open with his excellent route running and good speed. However, he is slightly more prone to suffering injuries especially with bigger defenders tackling him.
