Justin Ried was drafted by the Houston Texans as the 68th pick in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft. Reid attended the NFL Scouting Combine and completed all of the drills in 2018. Reid was one of the top performers in the Combine where he posted a 40-yard dash at 4.40 seconds, making him the second fastest amongst safeties. After the end of the combine, Reid was projected to be a first or second-round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts.
Reid had a decent start to his NFL career where he had seven interceptions, six QB hits, and 315 combined tackles. He spent four years with the Houston Texans before moving on to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. Despite having a decent amount of success with the Texans, Reid played his best football once he landed in Kansas. He has helped the Chiefs win two Super Bowls. In his early years, Reid attended Dutchtown High School, in Geismar, Louisiana. Reid was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and he committed to playing college football for Stanford University. During his time with Stanford, Reid played safety for the team and had 170 total tackles where 104 were solo tackles and 66 were assisted.
