Kareem Hunt or JK Dobbins or D'Andre Swift: Who should I start in Week 8 Fantasy Football? 

Kareem Hunt, JK Dobbins and D'Andre Swift are not usually what everyone thinks when discussing the top running backs of the 2024 season so far. Those distinctions will usually go to the likes of Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, David Montgomery and Saquon Barkley.

But there are fantasy matchups that do not involve any of those people. This is one of them, and there has to be a winner among the aforementioned three. With that said, who is (relatively) the best option?

Is Kareem Hunt a good fantasy pick in Week 8?

Kareem Hunt has been here before and done that. Once considered the Kansas City Chiefs' next great running back in the mold of Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, and Jamaal Charles, he derailed his career after allegedly assaulting a woman at a hotel and subsequently getting cut in 2018.

He has since found a niche as a capable injury replacement, first at the Cleveland Browns after Nick Chubb's horrific leg fracture, then back with the Chiefs following Isiah Pacheco's leg injury. And the Chiefs' next game against the Las Vegas Raiders provides him with a great opportunity to shine again, given their lack of breakout run stoppers.

Is JK Dobbins a good fantasy pick in Week 8?

Being made to follow in the footsteps of a franchise mainstay is more often than not a tall task for someone to do, and JK Dobbins has seemed to learn that maxim. One of two ex-Ravens who moved to Inglewood in the wake of Derrick Henry's blockbuster arrival in Baltimore, he established himself with the Los Angeles Chargers as a primary starter after hitting at least 100 yards in his first two games.

But since then he has failed to repeat those successes, coming closest at the Denver Broncos after the bye week. And the New Orleans Saints will not make it any easier for him, with a defense bannered by end Cameron Jordan and linebacker Demario Davis.

Is D'Andre Swift a good fantasy pick in Week 8?

When D'Andre Swift joined the Chicago Bears, he was coming off a surprise Pro Bowl season with the Philadelphia Eagles. The expectation was that he would continue this form and become a key offensive weapon.

Instead, he has found himself largely sidelined by new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron's focus on the passing game. He currently has only 91 carries for 325 yards and three touchdowns, and that may not expand by much against the Washington Commanders' front seven, headlined by linebacker Bobby Wagner and defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne.

Surprisingly enough, however, Swift wins the matchup run on Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Tool.

One may ask how this can happen when he is the worst rusher of the three, but there is another aspect that has gone unmentioned: receiving yards. The Bear is the best pass-catcher among himself, Hunt, and Dobbins – being the only one even projected to score a touchdown in the air.

When combined with the exploits of Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Cole Kmet, the Washington Commanders' secondary could have nightmares trying to prevent all those yards.
