The Kansas City Chiefs drafted him as the 86th pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Growing up in Elyria, Ohio, Hunt attended South High School in Willoughby, Ohio. Hunt rushed for 2,519 yards and 2,685 yards during his junior and senior years respectively. He finished his junior and senior years by totaling 83 touchdowns. After finishing his secondary education, Hunt committed to the University of Toledo in 2013. Over four seasons, Hunt appeared in 44 games. He completed his college career rushing for 4,945 yards on 782 attempts and scoring 44 touchdowns on the ground. Some of his noteworthy achievements during college include getting selected to the First-team All-MAC twice (2014, 2016), and Second-team All-MAC once (2015).

Hunt spent five seasons in Cleveland, since joining the team back in 2019. The 2020 season was his best season in Browns uniform as he went on to rush for 841 yards on 198 rushing attempts. However, after that year, he was never able to eclipse the 500-yard mark for the rest of his tenure with the Browns.

Kansas City Chiefs (First Stint) - (2017 - 2018)

Hunt's best production of his NFL career has come with the Chiefs. He rushed for 1,327 yards in his rookie season and led the whole league in rushing yards. However, Hunt's sophomore season came to an abrupt end after the Chiefs released him in the mid-season after a videotape surfaced of Hunt pushing a woman to the ground and kicking her. He appeared in 11 games that year, where he rushed for 824 yards.
