Born on February 19, 2000, Karene Reid is an American footballer who has been playing collegiate football for the University of Utah since 2021. He is the winner of the two-time All-Pac-12 Selection and has played three career games with a total of 10 plus tackles. In 2024, Reid made a start to eight games with 54 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble. He notched seven stops against Houston, including an assisted TFL plus a third-down stop. Reid was honoured with the academic All-Big 12 team and registered at least 0.5 TFL in the final six games of last season.

For his performance, Reid was included on the Butkus Award watch list for being the best linebacker. In 2023, he played 11 games with 67 tackles, four pass deflections and one interception. In the season finale at the 2023 Las Vegas Bowl, he credited eight stops against Northwestern. For his performance against UCLA, scoring nine tackles, two PBUs, and a pick-six, he was rewarded with Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.

Spencer Reid was born to Eugene and Ruth Reid on February 8, 1976, in Pago Pago, American Samoa. He completed his high school education at Leone High School, majoring in sociology (as per the BYU Cougars Website). He got married to Marrieta Dumas during the summer of 1996.

In 1998, Spencer Reid signed a free-agent contract with the Carolina Panthers for two seasons. He also played for Indianapolis for one season but later had to end his career due to a back injury. He left American Samoa to compete for LaVell Edwards, according to Deseret News. For almost two years, Spencer Reid also worked as an assistant strength coach for the Steve Addazio Colorado State project, as per KSL Sports.
