Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen had to depart from the team's Week 1 match against the Tennessee Titans due to a supposed leg injury. The Bears triumphed in a thrilling comeback in that game, but the offense struggled mightily to move the ball.

The fitness of many of the Bears' key players will be crucial to their success this season. Considering this, let's examine the extent of Allen's injuries and determine whether they will have lasting effects.

Keenan Allen's injury update

Keenan Allen was experiencing growing pains throughout Sunday's game. He was spotted making his way to the medical tent for testing toward the end of the contest. Allen was limited in practice leading up to the game due to a heel issue but was eventually cleared to play.

Although nothing has been confirmed as of yet, it's quite likely that Allen's Sunday injury is connected to the heel injury he sustained late in training camp. It's also noteworthy that the veteran wide receiver missed the last month of the 2023 campaign due to a heel injury.

Allen's latest injury is troubling given his history of heel injuries. However, fellow wide receiver DJ Moore seems unconcerned about Allen’s condition and even made fun of his new teammate.

During an interview with "Mully & Haugh" on 670 The Score, Moore said regarding Allen:

“He’s just an old man … He’s good.”

Although Moore's remark is certainly not the most reliable source of information regarding Allen's injury, the issue doesn't seem alarming. Nevertheless, it is not good for Allen's immediate performance that his latest injury may be connected to his persistent heel problem. To find out if Allen will miss any game, we must wait and see how the Bears' injury list develops over the week.

What happened to Keenan Allen?

Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen was considered questionable going into the team's Sunday game against the Tennessee Titans because of a heel ailment. He eventually played in the game, although it now seems like he hurt himself again during a play.

Allen was left limping after attempting to grab an overthrown pass in the end zone. He could rejoin the game after taking a quick break to visit the medical tent. However, he only participated in two more snaps for the rest of the game.

Given that Allen missed four games last season because of a pedal heel injury, keep an eye on his condition for the rest of the week.

Fortunately, the Bears' receiver corps includes DJ Moore and Rome Odunze in case Allen is sidelined for any games due to injury. The Bears' next game is a Sunday Night Football game against the Houston Texans in Week 2.
