Keenan Allen or Terry McLaurin: Who should I start for Week 3 fantasy football?

Keenan Allen and Terry McLaurin have both been well-known names to use in fantasy football for a while at this point. However, this has resulted in some managers getting both players. Then, week after week, they face the same painful decision on who to use. Here's a look at both players and a recommendation on the better wide receiver to play.

Keenan Allen was a WR1 in fantasy football in the past few years. However, there is a question about his usability this season as he battles injuries, competes with DJ Moore, and contends with Caleb Williams' rookie growing pains.

According to Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Simulator, Allen will conquer all obstacles to produce 11.2 points this week.

Caleb Williams is still pursuing his first touchdown pass, but he will be able to get the ball to Allen enough to have a solid day as a flex receiver.

UPDATE: Keenan Allen has officially been ruled out of Week 3.

McLaurin has been a 1,000-yard machine over the last few seasons. The Commanders' top receiver has always had trouble due to a constant revolving door at quarterback. He also has had to deal with a lack of a consistent second receiver who is unable to take the defensive pressure off.

He has a history of showing up on the scoreboard despite this, however. Now, with Jayden Daniels in the building, one hopes that he has fixed at least one of his two career-long problems. Either way, expect a solid outing from McLaurin this week, although one that isn't going to be a breakout. According to Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer, he is expected to earn 11.3 points this week.

Keenan Allen and McLaurin are as tight of a choice as managers could hope for. With only .1 points separating the two, managers should rest easy about the decision. Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer believes that Terry McLaurin will have a better day by a hair.

McLaurin faces the Cincinnati Bengals, who are coming in hungry after losing to the Chiefs last week in a must-win game.

Meanwhile, the Bears face the Indianapolis Colts, who are looking to boost their defensive rankings, including 32nd against the run. Both receivers are in for a similar day. As such, managers may wish to use both if they have a question elsewhere on their roster.
