It's a testament to the quality of Kyle Pitts and David Njoku that they're both expected to score double-digit points in Week 9 of fantasy football. They have different numbers in 2024 due to Njoku missing three games due to injury, but he has been reliable since his return.

Is Kyle Pitts a good pick in Week 9?

It took a long time, but it seems that this is finally the year where Kyle Pitts is having a breakout season. He has 419 yards and three touchdowns after eight games, his volume has been consistent (27 targets over the past four games) and he has tied his career-high of touchdowns.

Atlanta's offense loves to spread the ball around. The Dallas Cowboys have one of the worst linebacker groups in the league, allowing 154.8 rushing yards and 28.2 points per game. As such, the Falcons will try to explore the middle of the field with Pitts. He scored two touchdowns in Week 8 and is a great red zone target.

His catch rate of 77.7% in the past four weeks has been impressive, and his rapport with Kirk Cousins is growing. There's reason to be excited for another game with a huge volume.

Is David Njoku a good pick in Week 9?

Since he returned to the lineup in Week 5, Njoku has become the most important feature for the Browns' passing offense. He has massive volume: 28 targets and 20 catches over the past three games alone, resulting in 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Jameis Winston took over in Week 8 following Deshaun Watson's injury, and not only a Browns quarterback crossed the 200-yard mark for the first time this season, but Winston also threw for 334 yards.

This upward trend bodes extremely well for Njoku: since the team traded Amari Cooper away, the tight end and Cedric Tillman both have 21 targets, a great number for a sample of two games. With a 64% snap count in 2024, he's set to continue to feature heavily.

Whom should I start between Kyle Pitts and David Njoku in Week 9?

Our projection is extremely close, but the Sportskeeda Start/Sit Optimizer has Pitts as the best starter for a small margin. The favorable matchup against a weak Dallas Cowboys defense bodes well for a player coming from a two-touchdown week.
