Kyren Williams emerged as one of the top fantasy football running backs last year in his first season as a starter for the Los Angeles Rams. Despite missing five games due to injury, he finished as the sixth-best running back overall. He will seek to improve on his great performance, but he may face tougher competition for touches during the 2024 NFL season.

Kyren Williams finished sixth among running backs in total fantasy points scored last season, despite appearing in just 12 games. With a full offseason to regain his health and learn the Los Angeles Rams' offensive system even more, it makes sense why he has such a bright fantasy outlook.
If he played a complete season last year, he likely would have been well into the top-five running backs.
With his dynamic combination of explosive running and his ability to catch passes, Williams has one of the highest ceilings of any running back for the 2024 fantasy football season. He is a strong player to target in the early rounds with his legitimate RB1 upside.
Kyren Williams 2024 fantasy outlook, ADP and 2023 stats
Williams' strong 2023 season included 1,350 scrimmage yards and 15 total touchdowns, despite playing in just 12 games. He ranked as the RB6 overall but was an even better RB2 in fantasy points per game.
He is expected to once again serve as the Rams' featured running back this season, though rookie Blake Corum may cut into his workload a bit.
The second-year back ranks 17th overall and RB8 for the 2024 fantasy football season, according to his current ADP. This makes Williams an excellent player to target early in the second round of fantasy drafts. He outperformed his ADP last year and has the potential to do so again this season.
Is Kyren Williams a good pick in fantasy football this year?
His elite upside weighed against his current ADP makes Kyren Williams a strong player to target in fantasy football drafts for the 2024 season. In his first opportunity as a starter, he trailed only Christian McCaffrey among running backs in fantasy points per game.
With more experience and a potentially healthy season, Williams has the upside to be the RB1 this year.
Blake Corum's arrival is his only major challenge this year. The Rams selected him as one of the top running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft, thus he may take some of Williams' workload. This could explain why his ADP is currently lower than where he was at the end of last season, but it also presents an opportunity to get a proven elite asset at a reduced cost.
Where should you draft Kyren Williams this year?
Kyren Williams is currently the RB8 and 17th overall player, according to his ADP. This means that managers can target him in the first half of the second round of their fantasy drafts, depending upon the league format and scoring settings.
Considering he finished as the RB6 in total fantasy points and RB2 in fantasy points per game last year, he could be a steal at his current ADP.
Sportskeeda's Who Should I Draft tool suggests taking Williams in favor of some of the top established veterans, such as Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs.
The tool also prefers Williams over another second-year option with a ton of upside, De'Von Achane. The generator gives him superior season-long projections, making him a better pick at their similar second-round ADP this year.
