Week 16 brings a whole new round of action, with several teams looking to fortify their chances of making the playoffs. That criteria applies to only one of Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets.

The Jets have been knocked out of contention in Aaron Rodgers' first full season as a Jet. The Rams, meanwhile, are firmly in the hunt to play some meaningful football in January with their offense healthy and on the same page. As the two teams lock horns this afternoon, here's a look at what's in store for Week 16 at MetLife Stadium.

LA Rams vs New York Jets prediction

Given Aaron Rodgers played the vast majority of his years with the Green Bay Packers and Matthew Stafford suited up for the Detroit Lions for the longest time, these two quarterbacks are more than familiar with each other's work.

Stafford became the No. 1 overall pick in 2009, a year after Rodgers took over from Brett Favre in Green Bay. Over the years, these two have faced off 18 times, though Rodgers has ended up on top in 13 of those showdowns. This week, however, the Rams will enter as the favorites.

While the Jets offense has started to figure itself out over the last two weeks, it's difficult to put your faith in this O-line. The Rams pass rush has also failed to show up in recent weeks so expect them to rectify that at the MetLife Stadium this afternoon. Given this will be a cold matchup, we're unlikely to see either team run up the scoreboard. With that said, Sportskeeda's NFL Playoff Predictor sees the Rams pick up a 21-18 win over the Jets.

LA Rams vs New York Jets fantasy outlook

Given we are likely to see frigid temperatures today, expect the Rams to lean on Kyren Williams, who has been one of the most dependable running backs in the league. Williams already has 1,121 rushing yards so far with 12 scores to his name.

Cooper Kupp was unnaturally quiet last week so expect him to rack up a few numbers against a Jets defense that has struggled with penalties all year.

Over on the Jets' side of things, the sane course of action for Jeff Ulbrich would be to call upon the services of Breece Hall and rookie Braelon Allen. Alas, the Jets have forgotten they have one of the league's most dynamic running backs on the roster.

If you're looking for a Jets pick, though, Garrett Wilson could be your man. Davante Adams' trade has opened up some room for Wilson, who has excelled over the last two games.
