Lamar Jackson came into this game for the Ravens against the Buccaneers looking to cement Baltimore's newfound form and win their fifth straight game to keep pace with the Steelers atop the AFC North, who have a 5-2 record after their victory over the Jets on Sunday in Week 7.
It got off to an inauspicious start as he was sacked on consecutive dropbacks in the first quarter and the Buccaneers raced off to a 10-0 lead. However, he slowly got back into the game and had the Ravens leading 17-10 by halftime.
He kept up the pace in the second half as well and added another 17 points in the second half before the Buccaneers added any more. For a long time, he had a perfect passer rating as he tormented the opposition defense. Here is how Lamar Jackson fared throughout the match.

It was a nearly flawless performance by the Ravens quarterback as he tore into the Buccaneers defense. He also picked up another 52 yards on the ground in 9 running attempts, as his devastating combo with Derrick Henry took full effect.
But this was a game when Lamar Jackson showed the world that he is no running back, as he has been pejoratively referred to sometimes despite having two MVP awards under his belt. He was sensational with his throws and it spanned the whole gamut of what a quarterback can do.
There was a long throw to Rashod Bateman for 49 yards. There was a throw to his running back, which allowed Derrick Henry to score the fifth touchdown. There were a couple of passes to Mark Andrews in the endzone. Justice Hill got in on the action as well.
All of that came down to the Buccaneers' penchant to blitz Lamar Jackson. Having sacked him on consecutive snaps to begin the game, Todd Bowles might have felt confident in dialing up the pressure. But the reigning MVP quickly regained his composure and kept balling for the rest of the night. In fact, most of his production came when Tampa Bay tried to blitz him. He was 13/17 when pressured, got 186 passing yards, and had four touchdowns without an interception.
The quarterback and the entire offense were helped by a couple of interceptions by Marlon Humphrey on defense. The first one stopped a touchdown and gave Baltimore the ball, resulting in a 14-point swing in the first half. The other one also gave them a good field position to go on a drive and score.
Another good news for the Ravens fans was that Lamar Jackson spread the ball around. Mark Andrews, who had been quiet to begin the season, now has three touchdowns in his last two games including a couple on Monday night. Derrick Henry got a receiving touchdown while also dominating on the ground. The running back was sensational as he accumulated 169 rushing yards in just 15 attempts. His 11.3 yards per carry was the highest for this season.
The only sour spot for the Ravens was the injury to Marlon Humphrey after catching his second interception. He was ruled out of the game with a knee injury and news is awaited for how long he will be out.
However, with Lamar Jackson playing the way he is, the Ravens will definitely be one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl, no matter who the opposition is and which players they can put out on the field.
