Lane Johnson NFL Journey

The Texas native’s NFL journey started when he was drafted by the Eagles in 2013. As of 2024, he has spent 11 seasons in the professional league, all with the Eagles. Johnson has easily developed into one of the leading tackles in the game and has been a consistent performer for the majority of his career.

The 6’6” tackle got a chance to play right from his rookie season itself as the Eagles starter had to miss the season due to injury. Johnson continued developing at a quick rate and within a year he went from the 26th-best right tackle as a rookie to the 2nd-best right tackle in the league.

In 2016, due to his consistent performances for the Eagles throughout the years, Johnson signed his first big contract worth over $56 million for five years making him the highest-paid right tackle in the league at the time.

2017 was the best year of Johnson’s career. He started with an injury but managed to play 15 games and help the Eagles to the top spot in the NFC East. They had a successful playoff run making it to Super Bowl LII where they defeated the New England Patriots giving Johnson his first and only ring to date.

Since then Johnson has continued performing at a high level and was also an essential part of the Eagles' second run to the Super Bowl when they faced and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023.
