Cincinnati Bengals v New York Giants - Source: Getty
The Las Vegas Raiders and the Cincinnati Bengals met in a game between two desperate teams. The Raiders entered Week 9 with just two wins, while the Bengals had three. The second half of the season will certainly be tough for whoever loses the contest.

This game was excellent for Joe Burrow, who's having one of the best seasons of his career despite the Bengals' negative record. Midway through the second quarter, he completed 13 straight passes, a career-high for the quarterback.
Cincinnati scored a late touchdown in the first half and was able to carry a great lead into halftime, especially as they had possession to start the second half as well.

The Raiders were competitive for most of the first half, opening the score with an excellent drive with a fantastic running game. But that's basically where they had offensive success during the game; the 14 points in the garbage time happened when the game was already decided and many starters were out.
Quarterback Gardner Minshew again struggled, while Joe Burrow set career records and threw five touchdowns. One of the Raiders' touchdowns was a pick-six thrown by the Cincinnati quarterback in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders have a big problem on offense. They had just 58 rushing yards on 19 carries, once again putting a lot of pressure on Gardner Minshew's shoulders.
It was the fifth straight loss from Las Vegas, and it doesn't look like the team has anything left to fight in the 2024 season. Sitting at 2-7 and three games behind the Denver Broncos, who are third in the division, the trade deadline in two days will put many of their players on notice.

A great game from Joe Burrow, who threw a pick-six but was excellent otherwise. Apart from his record of straight completions, the quarterback had Mike Gesicki with 100 receiving yards. Cincinnati missed Tee Higgins and Jermaine Burton in this game.
The 4-5 record isn't great, but this win keeps their season alive. The next games against the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers will define their season.
