The Denver Broncos hosted divisional rivals Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season. After a hard-fought win over the New York Jets in Week 4, the Broncos returned to Empower Field at Mile High to extend their good moment against a hurt Raiders squad.

Amid the Davante Adams saga, the Raiders tried to shake off the drama and improve their record to 3-2 after a start to the season with ups and downs. The game kicked off at 4 p.m. ET with the two squads trying to stay close to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Raiders vs. Broncos game summary

The las Vegas Raiders had first possession of the game and quickly cashed in on that. Gardner Minshew scrambled to get a first down on 3rd and 8 to keep the drive alive. In the very next play, he connected with rookie tight end Brock Bowers to open the score. The extra point kick was successful, putting the Raider up 7-0 two minutes into the first quarter.

Las Vegas extended its advantage with a Daniel Carlson field goal at the 40 yards to take a 10-point lead as the first quarter was nearing its end.

The Denver Broncos responded early in the second quarter with a Will Lutz 51-yard field goal to add the first three points on the scoreboard.

With 8:43 on the clock, Gardner Mindshew tried to connect with a receiver in the end zone but Pat Surtain II intercepted the ball and took it all the way to the house to give the Broncos the second score of the game and tie the game at 10 points.

After Will Lutz missed a 59-yard field goal, Janarius Robinson was penalized, putting the Broncos closer to the post. Lutz didn't miss in his second attempt, giving the Broncos the 13-10 lead entering halftime.

The Denver Broncos extended their lead in the third quarter after Bo Nix connected with Jaleel McLaughin for a 4-yard touchdown. The defense also had something to say, with Riley Moss intercepting Gardner Minshew in the next play.

Bo Nix scored a rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter to give the Broncos a 27-10 lead with the successful extra point. In their next drive, they scored another touchdown with Bo Nix finding Josh Reynolds in the end zone to put get a 34-10 advantage over the Raiders.

Las Vegas would score again with 4:01 minutes left on the fourth quarter. Ameer Abdullah went right up the middle for three yards before Mattison completed the 2-point conversion. The result didn't change and the Broncos secured the third win of their season.
