Being named the MVP of the game is the highest individual honor associated with being a champion, other than winning the ring itself. Here's how the past ten winners of the award rank ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

#10. Julian Edelman - SB LIII

Julian Edelman was the offensive standout in a game that turned into a defensive battle between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams. His ten receptions for 141 yards were a key to the Patriots' 13-3 victory.

#9. Cooper Kupp - SB LVI

Cooper Kupp won the rare receiving triple crown for the Los Angeles Rams and continued his legendary season into the playoffs. He capped it off by winning the Super Bowl MVP award with 92 yards and two touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals, including the game-winner.

#8. Patrick Mahomes - SB LIV

Patrick Mahomes didn't turn in his best performance against the San Francisco 49ers, but his 286 yards and two touchdowns were enough to win the game. He was also pivotal in leading the Kansas City Chiefs to overcome a ten-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

#7. Tom Brady - SB LV

Tom Brady cemented his role as the GOAT even further when he won a Super Bowl ring for his second team. He was named MVP when his Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs.

#6. Von Miller - SB 50

Von Miller turned in one of the most dominant defensive performances in Super Bowl history when the Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers. He was in the backfield all game long, racking up 2.5 sacks and forcing two fumbles.

#5. Patrick Mahomes - SB LVIII

Patrick Mahomes needed heroics for the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat the San Francisco 49ers, and he delivered. He put together a game-tying drive at the end of regulation and a game-winning drive in overtime.

#4. Patrick Mahomes - SB LVII

Patrick Mahomes was highly efficient when he defeated the Philadelphia Eagles despite them controlling the time of possession battle for the entire game. The superstar quarterback threw three touchdown passes and added 44 rushing yards despite playing with a high ankle sprain.

#3. Tom Brady - SB XLIX

Tom Brady had no trouble moving the ball against the Seattle Seahawks' legendary "Legion of Boom" defense. He picked apart the defense with 328 passing yards and four touchdowns on his way to his third Super Bowl MVP award.

#2. Nick Foles - SB LII

Nick Foles cemented his name in NFL history when he won the first-ever ring for the Philadelphia Eagles in their franchise history. He replaced the injured Carson Wentz for their run through the playoffs and capped it off by totaling four touchdowns, including one receiving on the infamous "Philly Special," in the final game of the year.

Tom Brady turned in one of the most iconic performances in NFL history during his Super Bowl LI victory. He famously brought the New England Patriots back from a 28-3 deficit in the third quarter to defeat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime.
