Week 6's most anticipated NFL matchup has Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions square off against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

The Lions have won two straight games, including a 42-29 demolition of the Seattle Seahawks in their last game. However, they had a bye last week. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have triumphed in two straight games, most recently defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-17 in a tenacious comeback.

Let's examine the health statuses of both teams before the much-awaited NFC matchup.

Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys injury report

The Detroit Lions have the edge injury-wise over the Dallas Cowboys going into Week 6.

The Lions' injury report on Friday was brief because the team is coming off a bye week, despite coping with multiple injuries over the past few weeks. Detroit only listed four players on its final injury report, and only one carries an injury designation into the game against the Cowboys.

Detroit Lions rookie offensive lineman Christian Mahogany (illness) has been ruled out for the trip to Dallas. Mahogany was fully involved throughout the practice, but it seems he has not shaken the illness away in time for Sunday's game.

In a piece of positive news for Lions fans, center Frank Ragnow (pectoral) and defensive back Brian Branch (illness) will be back on the field on Sunday.

For the Cowboys, they will still be without their two best defensive players in Week 6. Linebacker Micah Parsons, who also missed the last game against the Steelers, is still sidelined by an ankle injury, while edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence will be missing the second of the four games he's expected to sit out after the team placed him on injured reserve last week.

Additionally, linebacker Eric Kendricks will also be unavailable for the Cowboys because of calf and shoulder problems. He was DNP in practice throughout the week, so it's not a big surprise that he has been ruled out.

However, cornerback DaRon Bland might return to the field for the Cowboys on Sunday after logging two full practices to start the week. Bland has been designated as questionable to play after he was DNP on Friday, but the fact that he practiced fully twice earlier suggests he has a chance of suiting up.

The other players the Cowboys listed as questionable are CB Caelon Carson (shoulder) and ILB Nick Vigil (foot).

Micah Parsons injury update

Micah Parsons, who sustained an ankle injury against the New York Giants in Week 4, did not play for the Cowboys in Week 5 against the Steelers. He won't play again this weekend as he failed to log any practice participation during the week.

Parsons' injury has been described as week-to-week, but reports have suggested that he will probably miss up to three games before he can return to the field.

Trevon Diggs' injury update

Trevon Diggs had one DNP sandwiched between two full practices for the Dallas Cowboys this week due to illness/ankle injury. However, it appears the team only gave him time to rest on Thursday as he's not carrying any injury designation into Week 6.

DaRon Bland injury update

DaRon Bland could play for the Cowboys for the first time this season on Sunday against the Detroit Lions at AT&T Stadium. The cornerback had a foot injury that kept him out of the first five games of the season, but he returned to practice fully this week.

After two full practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, Bland was DNP on Friday. It's still unknown why he didn't participate in practice on Friday, but the team has listed him as questionable for Week 6.

Bland had a career season in 2023, setting an NFL record with five pick-sixes from nine interceptions. In addition, he registered 15 passes defended.
