As a professional player, every athlete aims to win the grandest prize available in the sport. When it comes to team sports, every individual who steps on the field or the court gives it his all for the success of the team. Team sports are a collective effort where everyone wins and loses together, however, individual brilliance still matters. There are always a handful of athletes in every game who have the natural ability to put up the herculean effort which goes a long way in helping the team to succeed.

While most team sports contain on an average of 15-20 players on a roster, NFL teams have a 53-member squad at full capacity. Standing out amongst nearly 100 players at any given time on the turf for an NFL player takes some exceptional play. To do so in the biggest game of the year - the Super Bowl - is an even more daunting task. Having said that, there are certain positions in the game that have the most probable chances of winning the Super Bowl MVP (Most Valuable Player). The highest chance is of course the quarterback as he is the one making most of the big plays when it matters the most.

The most valuable player of the Super Bowl is awarded the Pete Rozelle Trophy which was first handed out in Super Bowl XXV that took place in 1991. Pete Rozelle was a former commissioner of the NFL. However, the MVP award dates back all the way to 1967 when Bart Starr was named the first-ever Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl I. A panel of 16 football writers and broadcasters, along with fans who can vote electronically are responsible for judging the winner of the award after the game.

Winning this prestigious award even once is one of the biggest accomplishments in the game, but to win it multiple times takes something extra. And just to put into context the difficulty of winning this award more than once, consider the fact that only six players have accomplished this feat from a total of fifty-seven Super Bowls. Tom Brady with his five Pete Rozelle Trophies is at the top of this distinguished list.
