Based in the Greater Los Angeles area, the Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football franchise. The Chargers play in the American Football Conference (AFC) West division of the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams and the Chargers share SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where they play their home games. The Los Angeles Chargers were valued at 5.1 billion dollars in August 2024, which places them at number 20 on Forbes' list of the most expensive NFL teams.

The Chargers, a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), were established in 1959 in Los Angeles and started playing in 1960. In 1961, they moved to San Diego to become the San Diego Chargers after spending their inaugural season in Los Angeles. Following the 1970 merger of the AFL and NFL, the franchise became a member of the NFL. After 56 seasons in San Diego, the Chargers returned to Los Angeles in 2017.
