The Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings will play on Thursday Night Football at SoFi Stadium in Southern California to kick off Week 8 of the NFL's 2024 regular season.
The Vikings' undefeated start to the season ended last weekend when they lost to the Detroit Lions. Notwithstanding the pain that came with that loss, the Vikings remain a strong competitor in the NFC.
The Rams managed to squeeze out a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders last week for only their second win of the season. Although their offense didn't particularly play well in that game, wide receiver Cooper Kupp's possible return this week should markedly improve it.

Los Angeles Rams injury report
The Los Angeles Rams conducted walkthroughs on Monday and Tuesday to continue their preparation for their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night.
Owing to this, their injury reports from those two days were merely estimates of how much each player would have participated if they had practiced on a regular basis.
Wide receiver Jordan Whittington (shoulder) and nose tackle Neville Gallimore (shoulder) were labeled as limited on the injury report on Tuesday, leaving just defensive end Braden Fiske (back) and linebacker Troy Reeder (hamstring) as DNP.
Following his return to practice, the team also listed second-year wide out Puka Nacua (knee) as a limited participant on Tuesday's injury report.
Both wide receiver Cooper Kupp (knee) and offensive lineman Joe Noteboom (ankle) were estimated as full practice participants on Tuesday.
Cooper Kupp injury update
Wide receiver Cooper Kupp hasn't played since suffering an ankle injury in Week 2. His return date was also uncertain since the team decided not to put him on injured reserve.
Head coach Sean McVay stated that he anticipates Kupp playing this week against the Vikings at his postgame press briefing following the team's victory against the Raiders last weekend.
Although the veteran wideout was designated as questionable to play in Week 7, the Rams ultimately decided to leave him out because they likely wanted him to get back to full strength.
There is every reason to believe Kupp will be back on the field on Thursday night, as he was classified as a full participant in both of the team's injury reports this week.
Puka Nacua injury update
Officially returning from injured reserve, wideout Puka Nacua was categorized as limited on the team's injury report on Tuesday. Before Tuesday, the second-year wideout had not practiced with his teammates since he left the team’s Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions because of a knee injury.
Now that Nacua has returned to practice, the Rams have three weeks to decide whether to add him to the active roster or put him on the season-ending injury list.
Although Nacua has formally started the process of getting back on the field, it is unlikely that he will be ready for the Rams on Thursday night.
Joe Noteboom injury update
Despite Joe Noteboom's limited practices during the week, head coach Sean McVay informed the media prior to Week 7's game that the Rams wouldn't activate the offensive lineman before their matchup with the Raiders.
Noteboom hasn't played since sustaining an ankle injury in Week 1. He participated fully in the walkthrough on Tuesday and is now expected to make his comeback this week.
