The Rams visited the Eagles for the NFC Divisional Round playoffs knowing that whoever won the game would play at home in the NFC Championship. The Commanders' victory over the Lions means that they are the two highest-ranked teams left in the conference.
The two teams met in the regular season and Philadelphia won on the road and they were favorites here. However, Los Angeles played a 'home' game at Arizona last week and knocked out another 14-win team in Minnesota Vikings. They are also the last Super Bowl champions not named Kansas City Chiefs so there was no doubt that both teams were taking each other seriously.
The Eagles were not too shabby either last week in defeating another NFC North team as they dumped out the Green Bay Packers. Here is how the action went down.

Rams vs. Eagles game summary
The Eagles got the ball first from the kickoff and went and scored a touchdown straight away. With Saquon Barkley hogging much of the Rams' defense's attention, Jalen Hurts took off and skipped a tackle to take it to the house. A missed conversion meant a 6-0 lead for the home team.
Los Angeles, however, did not take it lying down. Matthew Stafford was first nearly intercepted and then the Rams avoided a three-and-out after a successful challenge against an incomplete pass. It ended with a touchdown pass to Tyler Higbee, and the visitors had a 7-6 lead.
The defenses came out for the next couple of drives with something to prove and forced each offense to punt. However, it is hard to stop Saquon Barkley for long and the running back took the ball and ran for a 62-yard touchdown. The conversion was good this time to make it 13-7 for the Eagles.
The Rams responded brightly but could not finish with a touchdown. However, managed to get a field goal for their efforts to make it 13-10 to begin the second quarter. The defenses again tried to exert some authority and forced consecutive punts.
On the next drive, Saquon Barkley managed to get a couple of first downs and A.J. Brown nearly caught a pass to set up a first-and-goal. However, the Eagles were driven out of field goal range with a sack and fumble but managed to recover it. It set up a Hail Mary pass attempt but Jalen Hurts was sacked again to keep the score 13-10.
The second half began with two three-and-outs by both teams as the snowy conditions made it difficult for the players. Matthew Stafford then led a fruitful possession with a big throw to Cooper Kupp followed by a strong Kyren Williams run. However, with players slipping and sliding in the red zone, the Rams could only score a field goal to tie the game 13-13.
Jalen Hurts followed it up with a field-goal drive of his own to restore Philadelphia's lead but it came at a price as he injured his left knee. The 16-13 lead turned into a one-point lead on the next Eagles drive after a phenomenal punt by Ethan Evans pinned them back and Neville Gallimore followed it up with a safety.
The Rams had the chance to take the lead on their next possession to open the fourth quarter but Kyren Williams fumbled the ball and Isaiah Rodgers recovered it to set up a first-and-goal. Saquon Barkley took it to the one-yard line with his first rush and normally one would have expected a brotherly shove to follow.
However, with Jalen Hurts struggling with his leg, they ran a couple of running plays unsuccessfully before trying the brotherly shove and that failed due to a false start. The home team settled for a field goal instead to take a 19-15 lead.
The action repeated on the next two drives as the Rams fumbled again, this time Matthew Stafford the guilty party, and the Eagles responded with a field goal to take a 22-15 lead after getting into range with a fourth-down conversion.
Los Angeles had to punt on their next possession and then Saquon Barkley took over. Philadelphia ran on the field and Jalen Hurts handed the ball to the running back, who ran for 78 yards for a touchdown. Another missed conversion made it 28-15 for the home team.
The Rams needed an immediate response and decided to hurry up. Matthew Stafford led them on a long drive and finished with a touchdown pass to Colby Parkinson. It changed the game's complexion as the Eagles' lead was now just a single score with the scoreboard reading 28-22.
After making Philadelphia punt with 2:33 remaining, the visitors had the chance to pull off an unlikely win. Matthew Stafford picked up a first down before the two-minute warning but followed that up with two incomplete passes. However, his experience shone through as he completed a throw on third down to keep the chains moving before a deep pass to Puka Nacua brought them into the Eagles' territory.
However, a costly false start and a sack set them back and the quarterback could not complete on fourth-and-eleven. That allowed the home team to see the game out with a kneel-down with a final score of 28-22. They will host their NFC East divisional rivals Commanders next week in the Conference Championship.
