At the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, his Next Gen Stats score of 68 ranked 22nd overall among the cornerbacks, according to the official NFL website.
McWilliams is from Pensacola, Florida, where he attended Pine Forest High School. He joined with UAB Blazers football program in 2020 and spent four years there before transferring to the UCF Knights football program, where he played for the 2024 season. For the Blazers, McWilliams played in 31 games, recording 101 tackles (73 solo), 6 tackles for loss, 23 pass breakups ups and one forced fumble.
