Malachi Corley's College

Malachi Corley was recruited by Western Kentucky University originally as a cornerback, but during preseason drills of Hilltoppers, he was switched to wide receiver. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, his rookie season at Western Kentucky, in which he participated in nine games and hauled in six passes for 65 yards, did not count against his eligibility.

In 2021, he caught 73 passes for 691 yards and seven touchdowns. After receiving 101 passes for 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns as a redshirt sophomore, Corley was named to the first team of the Conference USA.

Before breaking out in 2022, Corley was a backup for the first two seasons. With 292 more yards after the catch than the next-closest FBS receiver, the "YAC king" deserved to be called that. The second-best single-season record in PFF College history, he also forced 40 missed tackles after the catch.
