On Thursday, the 2-9 New York Giants traveled to AT&T Stadium to take on the 4-7 Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East divisional battle. The mood around this Thanksgiving Day battle was pretty glum, as neither team had the season they envisioned.
The Giants especially did not expect to be the frontrunners to pick first in the 2025 NFL draft, but that's the dismal reality they face. They haven't had much to be thankful about this season, except wide receiver Malik Nabers.
The sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft has been the sole silver lining in an otherwise horrendous season for the franchise. The rookie's debut season got off to a hot start. Through Week 4, he had 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns.
Nabers was the frontrunner to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but a concussion sidelined him for two weeks and the Giants' offensive woes diminished his impact. Regardless, he's still been impactful. Coming into the game against the Cowboys, he had 67 catches for 671 yards and three touchdowns.

Nabers hasn't found the endzone since Week 3, and the Giants were hopeful that he'd end his long touchdown drought on Dallas on Thursday.
Malik Nabers' stats vs. Cowboys on Thanksgiving
Here are Malik Nabers' numbers against the Cowboys:
- Targets: 13
- Receptions: 8
- Receiving yards: 69
- Touchdowns: 0
- Rush Attempts: 1
- Rushing Yards: 4
- Rushing Touchdowns: 0
Quarterback Drew Lock threw the ball in the wide receiver's direction more than any other player. He finished the game with eight catches for 69 yards, but couldn't find the endzone. They tried to use his elusive speed once as a rusher but he could only get four yards.
Nabers' touchdown drought is over two months long now and will enter its third before the Giants play again. It's been tough sledding for the rookie after a bright start to life in the NFL.
