Marquise "Hollywood" Brown was released from hospital on Aug. 11 after getting treated for a collarbone injury. However, it appears that the Kansas City Chiefs wideout won't make his debut for the team in Week 1 of the 2024 regular season.

On Friday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said that Brown is not expected to play in Kansas City's season-opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

The latest injury update on Brown suggests that fantasy team managers should avoid picking him in Week 1. He also didn't practice with the team on Monday.

As things stand, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown's status for Week 1 is questionable. However, the Chiefs are unlikely to risk him for the game against the Ravens at Arrowhead on Thursday.

Nonetheless, there is a possibility that Brown will return to action sooner rather than later. An exact date is yet to be announced.

Brown suffered a dislocation of his sternoclavicular shoulder joint in the Chiefs' preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 10. He was taken to the hospital for further scans.

At the time of Brown's injury, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the player was expected to miss some time.

"As far as the injuries go, Hollywood Brown has that same thing that Tyreek had down here, actually," Reid said. "Sternoclavicular post dislocation. They've taken him to the hospital. They'll check him out, and they're working on that as we speak.
"I think he'll miss some time. We'll just see where it's at. We're kind of going through it right now. We'll know more later on here."

Brown didn't feature in any of Kansas City's remaining two preseason games. As per reports, a sternoclavicular dislocation can take up to six weeks to three months to heal.

The Chiefs signed Brown in free agency this offseason. The player will enter his sixth NFL season in 2024.

Brown made 51 receptions for 574 yards and caught four touchdowns in 14 starts for the Arizona Cardinals last season.
