Marvin Harrison Jr. played his college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2021-2023 and was the wide receiver for the team. Harrison Jr. decided to forgo his college eligibility and declare for the 2024 NFL draft on January 11, 2023. He went 4th overall to Arizona Cardinals in the draft. He is the son of former wide receiver Marvin Harrison.

Harrison Jr. is a former four-star recruit who attended St. Joseph's Preparatory School located in Philadelphia, United States. He was a multi-talented athlete who played both football and basketball but ultimately decided to solely focus on football when he entered high school. He helped St. Joseph’s Prep win three straight state championships and had a total of 2,625 receiving yards and 37 receiving touchdowns.
