John Matthew Stafford is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL. The Detroit Lions drafted Stafford with the first overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. After sustaining a season-ending shoulder injury in 2010, Stafford won the Comeback Player of the Year after recording 5038 passing yards and 41 passing touchdowns in the 2011 NFL season. After 12 seasons and 165 appearances, Stafford was traded to the Rams, in exchange for Jared Goff and future early-round draft picks. In his first season with the Rams, Stafford became the first player in NFL history to record 6000 yards and 50 touchdowns in the regular and postseason combined, leading the Rams to their second Super Bowl victory in franchise history.
