Melvin Gordon just signed up to be a member of Super Bowl hopefuls Kansas City Chiefs, but only as a third-string running back.
Gordon's fall has been sad, as the Wisconsin University alum went from totaling ten touchdowns per season to fumbling the ball at a record pace. It got so bad that he was unceremoniously released from a Denver Broncos team that desperately needs fit running backs. Hence, Gordon's stock couldn't be lower.
However, the Kansas City Chiefs and coach Andy Reid are up to something, with the Chiefs signing Gordon off the waivers. Gordon will now play for a legitimate contender for the first time in his career thanks to this signing. All things being equal, Gordon will make his Chiefs debut the following week, but it remains to be seen how many touches he can rack up from Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon.

What is Melvin Gordon's Status for week 14?
Melvin Gordon is fit and available for the Chiefs' week 14 matchup against the Denver Broncos. He will present a more experienced option for the Chiefs, as none of their other running backs is a former Pro Bowler.
However, if Gordon wants to play snaps for the contenders, he must improve his ball retention. His habit of fumbling the ball at pivotal moments must stop. The Chiefs are currently riding high in the AFC Conference and will want to hold on to their top seed.
Melvin Gordon's 2022 Season Stats
Melvin Gordon has had a rollercoaster 2022 season thus far, with the veteran likely to want to put the season behind him. He started off the season as the backup running back for the Denver Broncos. After a few weeks, he was RB1 for the side, but that did not last long. Fast forward to week 14, he has been released by the Broncos and signed by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gordon's NFL statistics this season are his poorest since his rookie campaign. In ten games played this season, he has compiled stats of 90 rushes, 318 rushing yards, and two touchdowns.
