The Miami Dolphins entered Sunday with one scenario in mind: defeat the New York Jets, and they would make the playoffs if the Denver Broncos also lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. But they would have to do it without star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who was sidelined with a hip injury.
The Jets, meanwhile, had long been out of playoff contention. However, they were still looking to end the season on a high note in what could be the final game of Aaron Rodgers' storied career.
