Micah Bernard is a collegiate American football player who has been playing at the University level for the past five years. Having had a chance to declare for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, Bernard turned it down and will instead come back to college football for one more year.
The first couple of years of college football didn’t go quite so well for Bernard as in 2019, his true freshman year he redshirted. The following year in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions enabled him to play in only 5 games. However, from 2021 Bernard started seeing more time on the field, albeit it is still not as much as he would like.
Despite being a running back, Bernard has shown flashes of what he can do as a receiver as well, bringing a dual-threat option from the backfield. Standing at 6 feet in height, he is above average the standard height for an NFL-caliber running back while adding an advantage in his pass-catching abilities.
In 2023, the California native suffered an off-the-field injury that sidelined him for nearly the entire season. He played only the first and the last games of the season.

Micah Bernard joined the University of Utah as a freshman in 2019. After playing in just four games on special teams for the Utah Utes football team, Bernard redshirted his true freshman year. In 2020, he played in five games of the COVID-19-shortened season rushing for 76 yards.
Bernard’s first somewhat better year in college came in 2021. He saw playing time in all 14 games that year and ended with 523 rushing yards from 87 carries. He added a further 251 yards through the air from 26 catches. His best performance came against BYU as he ran for 146 yards on just 12 attempts with his longest run going for 50 yards.
His fourth year of collegiate football produced similar results in terms of production to his previous year with the only real difference being that he received fewer ball carries and slightly more passes. He finished the year with 533 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns from 106 touches while catching 34 passes for 314 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Micah Bernard High School
Coming from Long Beach, California, Bernard attended Gahr High School in Cerritos, California. Bernard was a three-sport athlete in high school as he played basketball and track along with football.
In football, Bernard finished his high school career with 259 carries for 2,411 yards which led to an average of 9.3 yards per carry. He also had 27 rushing touchdowns and ten games over 100 rushing yards in his junior year in 2017.
Although his production was much less in his senior year with just 716 rushing yards from 100 carries and 9 rushing touchdowns, he had an equally outstanding season receiving the ball with 606 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.
Scouting websites such as Rivals and 247Sports had him as a three-star prospect.
