Micah Parsons is an American football edge rusher for the Dallas Cowboys as of 2024. The former 12th overall pick out of the 2021 NFL draft has played 3 seasons as of 2024. The 6 ft 3 defensive end attended Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania before transferring to Harrisburg High School. He then committed to playing college football at Penn State University, where he played for 3 years, starting from 2018 to 2020. However, he opted out of the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He finished his collegiate career by accumulating 191 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, 5 pass deflections and 6 forced fumbles. Parsons’ terrific play continued even after coming into the league as he earned First-team All-Pro honors in his rookie season along with the Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2021. Micah finished his rookie year with 13 sacks to go along with 3 forced fumbles. His production went up every year from there on as he racked up 13.5 and 14 sacks respectively in 2022 and 2023. He has been named to the Pro Bowl every year since entering the league in 2021. He was ranked 3rd by various executives, scouts and coaches in the top 10 edge rushers survey done by ESPN in July 2024. His amazing play has earned him the respect among his peers as he has been voted in the NFL Top 100 every year since entering the NFL.
