How many sacks has Micah Parsons racked up?
As of week 10 of the 2024 NFL season, Parsons has piled up 43.5 sacks in his career. Parsons already had 40.5 sacks in the regular season from 50 games in his first three seasons. How the Cowboys have used Parsons
In his rookie year, Parsons was initially used as a defensive end, the same position he used to play in high school. The Cowboys starting defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence went down with a foot injury before game 2 of the 2021 season, and Parsons took on the role and flourished immediately, especially in the pass rush game. In a period of continuous dominance, Parsons went on a six-game period achieving at least one sack per game. Ultimately, his 2021 season ended up being named the unanimous Defensive Rookie of the Year.
He picked up 2022 from where he left the previous year. In all, he had another six games with a minimum of two sacks. His all-around gameplay earned him his second successive First-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.
Cowboys have been primarily using him as a defensive end for the majority of the year as evidenced by his snaps count (87% on defensive end according to PFF) in 2023.
