Former NFL offensive tackle Michael Oher became even more renowned when his life became a blockbuster movie called "The Blind Side." His success on the football field ignited his popularity and stardom along with the story of his life.

This past weekend, Oher took to his official Instagram page. He announced that he and his longtime partner Tiffany Roy were wed at the JW Marriott in Nashville, Tennessee. He thanked everyone for the love that he and his wife experienced all weekend and how excited he was to start this next chapter:

“Filled with joy, can’t believe people took their time and came to celebrate! My beautiful wife, I love you so much, thank you for blessing me with our family! Easily the best single weekend I’ve ever been a part of. Not being from the area everyone came to was even more special. I won’t be able to tell everyone thank you, if I saw you this weekend, thank you! I’m complete, let’s keep trending upward!"

The couple met at Ole Miss 17 years ago and got engaged in July 2021. They have four children together: two daughters (Kierstin and Naivi) and two sons (MJ and Kobi). Tiffany was walked down the aisle by their son Kobi.

How long did Michael Oher play in the NFL?

Michael Oher played his collegiate football career at the University of Mississippi, better known as Ole Miss. The standout offensive tackle was a a projected top draft pick heading into the 2009 NFL Draft. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 23rd overall selection in the first round.

He signed a five-year deal with the Ravens and played both left and right tackle for the team throughout his tenure. He won Super Bowl XLVII with the Ravens in February 2013.

After that season, he became a free agent and signed with the Tennessee Titans in March 2014. Just about a year later, he was released by the Titans after missing several games due to a toe injury.

The offensive tackle then signed with the Carolina Panthers on a two-year deal in March 2015. He made his second run for a Lombardi Trophy in Super 50 (February 2016), but the Panthers lost to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

He then signed a three-year contract extension in 2016 with the franchise. He then dealt with concussions throughout that season, playing just three games. Before the start of the 2017 NFL season, the Panthers released Oher because he was unable to pass the physical to start training camp.

Since his playing days in the NFL, he has worked to provide support to local communities. His Oher Foundation works with under privileged children and he created the "Good Deeds App" that provides support for communities throughout the US.
