Mike Evans has been dealing with injuries preventing him from playing several games in the 2024 NFL season. The veteran wide receiver is one of the most reliable in his position, but has struggled to stay healthy. Evans returned to the field against the New York Giants a couple of weeks ago after more than a month of inactivity.
He had a notorious day against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, catching eight passes for 118 yards and a receiving touchdown, but his impressive run might have come at an expense.
Mike Evans injury update: What happened to Bucs star WR?
After their hard-fought 26-23 win against the Carolina Panthers in overtime, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing for an intriguing duel against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14. The week isn't off to a good start for the Floridian team as Mike Evans is on the injury report, but this time with an additional injury.

In addition to his hamstring issue, he's listed with a calf injury now. The record-breaking wide receiver did not participate in Wednesday's session along with running back Bucky Irving (hip/back). Quarterback Baker Mayfield was listed as a full participant, insider Tom Pelissero reported on Wednesday.
That said, reporter River Wells notes that the Buccaneers didn't hold a full practice and instead went for a walkthrough. This makes it hard to see what would have been Evans' actual participation in the session, but it seems like rest is a part of the plans to get him ready for Sunday's duel.
Fantasy managers will have to see how the week unfolds for Mike Evans and decide whether to start him. ESPN ranks him as the WR15 ahead of this week's matchup, as he's projected to be targeted eight times, resulting in five receptions for 65 yards, one receiving touchdown with a projected 14.77 fantasy points.
The Buccaneers are still in the fight to win the NFC South division with the Atlanta Falcons. They need to have their weapons available to compete with Kirk Cousins and Co.
Even though they lost Chris Godwin for the season, the Buccaneers have stayed afloat and with chances to win the division for a second consecutive season. The Raiders aren't the strongest team, but having Evans on the field is always a good sign for Tampa Bay.
