Mitch Wishnowsky Nationality

Mitch Wishnowsky is an Australian national having been born in Australia. He was born on 3 March 1992 in Gosnells’ suburb in Western Australia to Marty and Penny Wishnowsky. His parents are from Hawke's Bay, New Zealand but relocated to Perth before the birth of their son.

Prior to becoming a professional punter in the United States, Wishnowski used to be a glass installation specialist in Perth, Australia. Interestingly, he got the idea of becoming a punter in the NFL from some of his friends who started showing him videos of the game. The 49ers punter used to practice scoring goals from long distance in his youth which is why he excelled at kicking a ball.

Taking his skills as a kicker, he made his way to the University of Utah in 2016 and played for the Utah Utes till 2018. Putting up terrific numbers in college, Wishnowky was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Apparently, in 2021, the 49ers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu wanted to change his 6-number jersey for the number 18 and Wishnowsky readily gave up his own number and took the number 18 jersey. The 49ers punter has no qualms about which number he gets to wear.
