Mitchell Trubisky was born on August 20th, 1994. He was born in Mentor, Ohio, United States. Coming from the small town of Mentor, Trbisky was exposed to football at an early age. Mentor has a strong football tradition and is famous for its community lifestyle, harbouring conducive environments for passionate athletes.

Trubisky attended high school at Mentor High School where he began to develop as a quarterback on the football team. His natural athleticism and passing skills laid the groundwork for him to pursue a pathway in football. His performance in high school caught the attention of scouts across the country.

During his career in high school, Trubisky passed for 9,126 passing yards and recorded 92 passing touchdowns. He rushed for 1,599 yards and scored 33 rushing touchdowns. Winning the Mr. Ohio award led to Trubisky being recognized as one of the top quarterbacks in the country. He demonstrated exceptional leadership and passing prowess through his high school performances. His athleticism allowed him to be a dual-threat quarterback with equal ability in passing and rushing. He set several for passing and touchdowns, ensuring that he left a strong impact on the school's football program.

Completing his college education, Trubisky was projected to be a first round pick in the NFL draft. He was drafted as the 2nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears. In his rookie season, Trubisky recorded the most passing yards by a rookie in the Bears’ history with 2,015 passing yards. He had an end season record of 4 wins to 8 losses in 12 starts and recorded 7 touchdown passes.

Trubisky saw success over the next few years making the playoffs and leading his team to a North Division title in the NFL. Furthermore, he was also selected for the Pro Bowl in 2019.

In 2021, Trubisky made a move to join the Buffalo Bills as a free agent. He served as the backup quarterback to Josh Allen. Not seeing enough playing time with the Bills, Trubisky moved to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022. He signed a two-year deal with the team. His performance with the Steelers was not great and he was often benched in games. In 2023, Trubisky signed a two-year extension with the Steelers.

Mitchell Trubisky committed to play collegiate football at the University of North Carolina. After redshirting his first year of collegiate football, he made his collegiate debut in a win against Liberty Flames. Throughout his 3 years at college, Trubisky recorded 4,762 passing yards and scored 41 passing touchdowns. He rushed for over 400 yards and scored 8 rushing touchdowns. He played 32 games of which he started in 13 games.

Trubisky was projected to be a first-round pick and was ranked as the 2nd best quarterback by ESPN. His draft combine profile recognized him as the 3rd best quarterback on the basis of quarterback rank, with a total combine score of 83.
