New Orleans Saints injury report Week 7
Here's a look at some Saints stars who are looking increasingly unlikely to feature against the Broncos:
Derek Carr's injury update
According to CBS Sports, star quarterback Derek Carr was not on the practice pitch on Tuesday. The perennial Pro Bowler remains sidelined due to an oblique strain suffered in his side's Week 5 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Saints have yet to place Carr on the injured reserve. However, that doesn't change the fact that he's likely to miss multiple games due to the injury.
Expect rookie QB Spencer Rattler to make his second consecutive start for the Saints against the Broncos.
Chris Olave's injury update
According to CBS Sports, star wide receiver Chris Olave was absent from the team's Tuesday practice session. The WR1 is dealing with a concussion suffered in his side's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6.
The report said that Olave has yet to make meaningful progress through the league's five-step concussion protocol since leaving Sunday's 51-27 defeat to the Buccaneers with a head injury. Olave is all but certain to miss Thursday's game against the Broncos.
Pete Werner's injury update
According to CBS Sports, linebacker Pete Warner did not practice during Monday and Tuesday's training sessions. The versatile defender has missed New Orleans' last two fixtures after suffering a hamstring injury during practice.
Werner can only feature on Thursday Night if he achieves at least limited participant status in Wednesday's training.
Rashid Shaheed's injury update
According to CBS Sports, Rashid Shaheed did not participate in Tuesday's practice session. The pacey pass catcher is dealing with a knee injury.
Shaheed has been listed as a non-participant in both training sessions to start the shortened week. He must now log some activity at Wednesday's training session to have a chance at featuring on Thursday against the Sean Payton-coached Broncos.
