The New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants duel presented two teams with different realities and aspirations regarding this game. Defense

Ugo Amadi and Demario Davis led the New Orleans Saints defense with eight total tackles each while Khalen Saunders and Bryan Breese both posted a sack. Micah McFadden and Darius Muasau led the Giants with 11 and eight tackles, respectively, while Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux stopped Derek Carr behind the scrimmage line twice. Demario Davis and Tre Hawkins III each recorded an interception.

Kicking

Blake Grupe missed a field goal opportunity in the first quarter but completed the extra point kick. Graham Cano completed a 43-yard kick to give his team three points.

The Giants scored their first points with a 43-yard field goal by Graham Cano at 11:20 in the second quarter to cut the league to four points.

The second half of the game was as quiet as the first, with the Saints extending their lead at 3:40 of the third quarter with Juwan Johnson's 11-yard reception. The Giants reacted with 4:11 left on the clock with a one-yard rushing touchdown by Tyrone Tracy Jr. Malik Nabers completed the 2-point conversion to cut the lead to 14-11. After Drew Lock and Nabers extended a potential game-winning drive, Graham Cano missed a 35-yard field goal that ruined the Giants' chances to win the game.
