The Jets won the toss and chose to defer. The hosts started veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, while Matthew Stafford led the offense for the Rams.

While both teams struggled to create much in the first quarter, it was the Jets who took the lead when Rodgers threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams with 0:23 remaining. Kicker Anders Carlson failed to convert the extra point, but New York led 6-0 after the first.
The Rams eventually got on the scoreboard in the second quarter when Kyren Williams rushed for a 2-yard touchdown. However, kicker Joshua Karty did not convert the extra point.
The Jets got back in front when Carlson made a 21-yard field goal just before the break. New York led 9-6 at halftime.
Both teams came close to scoring in the third quarter, but the scores remained the same heading into the final quarter.
The Rams drew level when Karty made a 38-yard field goal at the start of the fourth quarter. LA then went ahead when Stafford threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Higbee. Karty converted the extra point.
The Rams pulled away even further when Karty made a 45-yard field goal. LA eventually won the game 19-9.
The Rams improved to a 9-6 record, while the Jets fell to their 11th defeat of the season.
