Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter has many, including NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, bracing for whatever comes next for the social media giant. If things go poorly over the next six months, the NFL insider believes he will be having to use a new social media site. Some of the moves by Musk have been met with outcry and backlash, which Rappaport believes could be fatal to the platform. Here's how he put it on the Slow News Day podcast:
"What weird social media am I going to have to join in six months when everyone's like, 'Wow, Twitter sucks now? I'm going to have to join this and I'm going to be like, 'Oh, cool, because I'm not like doing enough weird social media.' Where it'll be now like, 'I have to post on this thing' and I just don't know what that's going to be. But I will be ready for it."

Garrett Wilson unhappy with Elon Musk's proposed blue check policy
After months of negotiations, Elon Musk, who is often associated with Tesla and SpaceX, purchased one of the biggest social media platforms in the world. The company was purchased for about $44 billion, according to the Washington Post. In comparison, the Denver Broncos were purchased earlier this year for about $4.65 billion.
The new owner of the social media platform has 115.1 million followers and has a bio that reads: "Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator." The move to buy the platform has been met with criticism and praise from all corners of the world. Almost immediately after purchasing the company, Musk began reorganizing the company's workforce. Thousands of workers have been let go in recent days, which seems like an odd move after Musk recently tweeted:
"Power to the People."
He is also proposing a change in policy which would result in users having to pay $8 a month for the blue tick.
New York Jets rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson disagrees with the proposal. He took to twitter and said:
"$8/month for me to prove that I am me? He on the BS early!"
With Garrett Wilson and Ian Rapoport's position on the new ownership clearly stated, many others are likely feeling the same. It will be interesting to see what happens next in the ongoing Twitter saga.
