The New York Jets are expected to land Aaron Rodgers this off-season and they've already signed his former wide receiver, Allen Lazard.
Lazard agreed to a four-year deal worth $44 million with the New York Jets this week, and the team may add a few more free agents to Rodgers' liking.
Lazard was officially introduced by the Jets and spoke to local media. He told them that he's happy that Rodgers will be his quarterback.
Lazard said:

"He [Rodgers] works out the same place I do in Los Angeles so, we were able to cross paths and connect a little bit and share our insight on what we were thinking and everything but there was no implications of trying to do this in a sense.Like I said previously, we were both trying to do what was right for the both of us."
"Obviously him and his situation is a little bit different with his career and everything. Obviously standing here today, it feels good knowing 12s going to be my quarterback again."
Lazard revealed that the Packers didn't show any interest in bringing him back, saying:
"They didn't seem like they were going to miss me too much."
Lazard has spent the last five seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He set career highs in receptions (60) and yards (788) while scoring six touchdowns this season. He had a career-high eight touchdowns in 2021.
In 57 games, he has 169 receptions, 2,236 yards, and 20 touchdowns.
The Jets may add another receiver or two in free agency. They're interested in signing Odell Beckham Jr. and could look to add Rodgers' former teammate, Randall Cobb.
When will the New York Jets acquire Aaron Rodgers?
The New York Jets are expected to acquire Aaron Rodgers this off-season. Rodgers announced that he intends on playing for the Jets in 2023 on The Pat McAfee Show.
Rodgers added that the reason why he hasn't been traded yet is because the Packers are trying to get more compensation in return for him.
Once New York acquires Rodgers, they will be one of the favorites in the AFC. Adding Rodgers and Lazard while getting second-year running back Breece Hall back will make them a more balanced team and one of the best heading into the 2023 season.
