Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings came up with an important 23-17 win against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. The star wide receiver scored a 97-yard touchdown in that game but later suffered a quad injury.
Jefferson sustained an injury in a collision with Fred Warner in the third quarter and did not return. The 49ers linebacker recently discussed the situation and mentioned it was 'a crazy accident'. He said:
“I’m hoping he can heal up and get healthy this week. It was just a crazy accident that happened with me and him. My knee hit him in his quad because their offensive lineman came up to the second level. He went low, I had to try to jump over him, we collided. It was a bang-bang situation. You never wanna see a guy go down like that. Hopefully, he heals up soon.”
Fortunately for the Vikings, Jefferson's injury is not considered serious, and he is on track to play in Week 3 against the Houston Texans. In the win against the 49ers, the 25-year-old wideout finished with four receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown on seven targets.

Even after Kirk Cousins' exit from the Vikings, Jefferson has continued to put up big numbers. Heading into Week 3, he has eight receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns on 13 targets. He has built great chemistry with Sam Darnold in a short time, and the Vikings are more than capable of defeating the Super Bowl contenders this year.
Fred Warner and the 49ers face a tricky test against the Rams in Week 3
Not many expected the Vikings to defeat the 49ers in Week 2, and now the NFC West franchise finds itself in a very challenging spot. After starting the season without Christian McCaffrey, they will also be without Deebo Samuel and George Kittle in Week 3.
They will play against the Los Angeles Rams, who are also dealing with injuries to several key players. On paper, the 49ers still have the better team, but crazy things could happen on Sunday.
The 49ers' defense led by Fred Warner will be under pressure to have a big game against the Rams. Sam Darnold played quite well against them in Week 2, and if they allow Matthew Stafford to have a similar impact, then the Rams quarterback can win the game for his team even without Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.
