49ers' George Kittle has one complaint with Netflix's "Receiver" series

After the success of the Quarterback series, Netflix is back with its "Receiver" series but George Kittle is not too happy with it. He has some mild complaints about how it could be improved and he shared those thoughts on the 'Bussin' With The Boys' podcast.

The 49ers player lamented the length of the series and laid out the math to support his argument. George Kittle said that there were five players that Netflix covered: himself, teammate Deebo Samuel, Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown, Minnesota Vikings sensation Justin Jefferson, and Las Vegas Raiders lynchpin Davante Adams.

And depending on how far their teams went past the regular season, there were between 17-20 games. Therefore, he implied he was not satisfied with just eight episodes:

"My only complaint with the entire thing was that you have five guys between 17 and 20 games and eight episodes."

Host Will Compton then asked George Kittle if he was suggesting that there should have been more episodes and the 49ers star concurred. He even gave a number and said that it should have been a dozen episodes at the very least.

He also added that it is something he has raised with Deebo Samuel, too, and he thinks that such a minimum count is needed to catch the rawness that Netflix would have wanted to show:

"I think it needs to be 12 episodes minimum. That's what me and Deebo talked about and we were just like it just, it's missing something… like the rawness of it."

George Kittle's importance clear through Netflix's "Receiver" series

With all the drama surrounding Brandon Aiyuk's contract extension for the 49ers, George Kittle has not received much attention this offseason. But if one were to look at the Netflix series and look at the five players featured, his importance becomes clear.

He is the only tight end among that cast. In the modern game, a tight end must produce as much, if not more, than a slot receiver. One only needs to look at Travis Kelce being the one-man outlet for Patrick Mahomes last year, when they won the Super Bowl to go back-to-back against George Kittle's team.

Quarterback Brock Purdy will have a contract extension soon as then the window for San Francisco to win the Lombardi Trophy might close as that might eat up most of the salary cap. The challenge for the 49ers tight end will be to elevate himself to the same level as the Kansas City Chiefs counterpart this year.
