4x Pro Bowler Michael Vick gives props to Tom Brady for commentator gig

Former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Michael Vick knows a thing or two about covering the game from a different perspective post-NFL career. Vick joined Fox NFL Kickoff for FS1 in 2018 and has been involved with the league for a few years after retiring.

Tom Brady retired from the NFL following the 2022 season, but before he retired, he landed a lucrative 10-year deal with Fox Sports as a color commentator.

Brady is in his first year calling games, and he's had mixed reviews about him as a broadcaster. On Thursday's episode of "Kickin' It With Dee," Vick, one of Brady's many supporters, said:

"I mean, at the end of the day, I'm saying it's Tom Brady. I'm saying Tom gonna break the game down from a championship perspective, all day, every day. So you can imagine Tom in the film room, like you can listen to him commentate and understand why he was so great, right?

"Because in everything, every play, he gives a distinct breakdown, and you don't have to do that. You can kind of just flow how you want to flow in that space. And I think Tom does a good job. I'm saying just keeping us engaged in the game."

Tom Brady once said he'd choose Michael Vick over himself in Madden

It's safe to say there's mutual respect between Michael Vick and Tom Brady. Both quarterbacks dominated football in the early 2000s, just in different ways.

In 2020, while Brady was still in his last days of playing in the NFL, a tweet from Sportscenter asked which quarterback fans would take out of 04' Michael Vick, 06' Peyton Manning, 08' Tom Brady or 20' Patrick Mahomes.

To somewhat of a surprise, Brady chose Vick and tweeted:

"Even I have to go ’04 @MichaelVick ...also, appreciate whoever decided to give me those biceps."

Vick saw Brady's answer and was happy and honored by his response. Vick quote-tweeted Brady's tweet while referring to him as the greatest of all time.

"That’s love @TomBrady aka the #Goat."
