Reigning American League MVP Aaron Judge was at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, attending the Monday Night Football clash between the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The free-agent outfielder, accompanied by his wife Samantha Bracksieck, was spotted sporting a Buccaneers jersey. He even met quarterback Tom Brady before the seven-time Super Bowl champion headed out of the tunnel and onto the field.

Judge's surprise appearance at the Buccaneers' home stadium sparked speculation. The rumor began that the reigning AL MVP was re-signing with the New York Yankees, who hold their spring training camp at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida. This is 500 feet away from the Raymond James Stadium. However, the reports are wide off the mark.

Here's how social media reacted:

Why is Aaron Judge at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers' superstar wide receiver Mike Evans and Aaron Judge are good friends. Days after Judge Roger Maris' single-season AL record for home runs against the Texas Rangers, Evans showed up to a Buccaneers' game sporting an Aaron Judge jersey. The wide receiver caught four passes for 81 yards in a 21-15 win for Tampa Bay against the Atlanta Falcons.

Judge is seemingly returning the favor by supporting his friend ahead of a big game for Evans and the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is 5-6. A win tonight against the Saints will help them all but end New Orleans' hopes of making it to the playoffs. The Buccaneers can take a 1.5-game lead over the 5-8 Falcons atop the NFC South standings.

Will Aaron Judge re-sign with the Yankees?

Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner has made it clear that the team intends to re-sign Judge, claiming it's his top priority this offseason. But the outfielder's trip to Raymond James Stadium to watch the Buccaneers is likely nothing more than a Monday night outing to support Mike Evans.

So Yankees fans and supporters of teams involved in the Judge sweepstakes, continue to hold your breath. Judge's appearance at Raymond James Stadium along with his wife Samantha Bracksieck is not an indicator that he's re-signing with the Yankees.
