Aaron Rodgers spoke about the situation between the New York Jets's ownership and staffers. The veteran quarterback credited the Detroit Lions ownership with laying down the footprint for their remarkable 2024 season a couple of years ago, which many saw as a jab at the Jets.
The player was asked whether he felt that the Jets ownership was as publicly supportive as the Lions with their coaches and executives. Rodgers had this to say on Wednesday (via Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic):
"Is that a rhetorical question?" Rodgers said. "I cited an example I've seen. There were other examples in Green Bay, both for and maybe not as for whoever was in charge. But I think it's an important part of ownership to hire the right guys, set the vision and support them when the outside world is trying to tear them down."
When asked if he felt the Jets were doing something similar to the Lions, Rodgers replied:

"I'd have to look. I'll ask you guys, has there been a lot of public comments? Supportive comments?"
"Yea, there's your answer," he said after reporters gave a negative answer.
Jets Co-owner Woody Johnson fired Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas as the coach and general manager, respectively, during the 2024 NFL season. However, while many considered them Super Bowl candidates, they turned out to have a disappointing campaign.
Rumors suggest that they will part ways with Aaron Rodgers in the offseason to try to start fresh again. These comments wouldn't help A-Rod's case with his boss, but this isn't new for the four-time NFL MVP.
What did Aaron Rodgers say about Detroit Lions ownership?
During his Tuesday appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show," Aaron Rodgers said that Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp supporting Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell in 2022 paved the way for the impressive 11-1 season the Lions are having.
"They started out the (2022) season 1-6. Do you remember what the sentiment was from the organization?" Rodgers asked. "They said (Brad Holmes) is our GM and Dan (Campbell) is our head coach. Since that statement was made, they have won a crazy amount of games."
"They finished the 2022 season on a high at 9-8. They went 12-5 in 2023. They're 11-1 this year, right? I can tell you that's not a coincidence. That (the statement) happened, and you've seen this shift. Because that's the energy that goes around the building," he added.
The Jets have taken a different approach this season and Rodgers doesn't seem happy about it.
