Aaron Rodgers claims he’ll have an ‘open mind’ if Packers turn to Jordan Love and end MVP QB’s era

Aaron Rodgers claims he won't resent if Packers turn to Jordan Love and end MVP QB’s era

Aaron Rodgers got hurt in last week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was already dealing with a broken thumb and hurt his ribs during the game.

After Rodgers left the game due to excessive pain, Jordan Love was given an opportunity and the backup quarterback impressed everyone. Serious questions have been raised about whether the Packers should shut down Rodgers and give Jordan Love some playing time for the rest of the season.

Here's what Rodgers said when asked about his views on Jordan Love getting an opportunity:

"Look, I'd love to finish the season out, but I understand this is a business and there's a lot of us kind of older guys who play a decent amount, and they might want to see some younger guys play."

He continued:

"Hopefully we don't have to have that conversation, but if that conversation comes up, I'll approach it with an open mind without any bitterness or resentment."

Rodgers added:

"Obviously, like I said, I want to win out, and then we don't have to have those conversations. But I understand if we don't that it's a possibility to have that conversation."

Aaron Rodgers is expected to play against the Chicago Bears in Week 13. Until the Green Bay Packers are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, we are unlikely to see Jordan Love playing.

Despite throwing two interceptions last week, Rodgers looked good against the Eagles. He will hope to get back into form against his favorite opponent, the Chicago Bears.

Aaron Rodgers will look to put on a show against the Bears

Green Bay Packers v Philadelphia Eagles

Aaron Rodgers loves playing against the Chicago Bears, and we can expect him to put on a show against them in Week 13.

He is 23-5 against the Bears in his career. In those 28 games, Rodgers has a passer rating of 109.9 with 6,783 yards, 63 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

As seen against the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the season, Rodgers shows up against his favorite opponents. We are likely to see a similar scenario on Sunday. As of now, the Green Bay Packers are favored by -4.5 points against the Bears, but this line could change depending on the injury status of Aaron Rodgers.

It is highly unlikely that Justin Fields will play for the Bears on Sunday, but that could also change. The availability of Fields can also play a huge factor in dictating the outcome of this game.

With the status of both quarterbacks uncertain, the build-up to this game is producing far more questions than answers.
