Aaron Rodgers’ ex-girlfriend Shailene Woodley opens up on traumatic battle with depression following breakup with 4x MVP

New York Jets star Aaron Rodgers has found himself in controversy again for his previous relationship with Hollywood actress Shailene Woodley.

Woodley recently opened up about her relationship with her ex-boyfriend and how her "traumatic" experience landed her with mental health struggles.

On Tuesday, Woodley was interviewed by OUTSIDE, during which she recalled her relationship with Aaron Rodgers. The couple reportedly began their relationship in 2020 and got engaged in early 2021. However, the two called off their engagement in February 2022 and soon ended up parting ways for good.

Talking about the relationship, Woodley said:

“I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry. It was not right. But it was beautiful.”

Moving forward in the interview, Shailene Woodley revealed how she went through "depression and anxiety" after she called off her engagement.

"I had a really awful, traumatic thing happen in early 2022," Woodley said. "I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy. I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment."

Two-time Golden Globe Award winner Shailene Woodley said her stylist and friend Kris Zero helped the 'The Fault In Our Stars' actress get through her 'traumatic' breakup.

"I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing," Woodley said. "That was the lowest low of my life. Sometimes I was so angry at her. But then we’d go surf, and for ten minutes that day, I thought life could be OK again."

"Then the depression would come back, and she’d go, ‘We’re volunteering at the horse ranch!’ And we’d find a random f–king horse ranch, and we’d clean up horse s–t. We’d clean hooves and brush the horses, and for 20 minutes that day, I thought life could be OK again."

Apart from Shailene Woodley, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers also dated Olivia Munn. Earlier this year, the quarterback's parents blamed Munn for their nine-year separation with the Jets star.

Interestingly, in a snippet from Netflix's documentary based on Rodgers, the four-time NFL MVP is heard saying he lost a number of close friends and family members over the past couple of years.
