Aaron Rodgers’ ex-teammate partly blames $112,500,000 QB for game-losing INT

Aaron Rodgers is 2-4 in his de facto debut season with the New York Jets. After blowing out the New England Patriots earlier this season, NFL fans believed the team to be the potential class of the AFC East. However, after losing to the Buffalo Bills in one of the overall toughest fourth quarters to watch all season, the quarterback is taking some heat.

Speaking in a clip posted to Twitter/X by Emmanuel Acho on Tuesday, Aaron Rodgers' former teammate James Jones blamed both Mike Williams and Rodgers for the late game-sealing interception.

"Aaron can throw it outside, but Mike wasn't on the red line. But Aaron still did not get enough on the throw. So I blame both of them," he said.

The red line reference is just how far receivers are supposed to run their "fly" or "go" routes away from the sideline. Williams stands accused of running a slightly incorrect route, but Rodgers failed to adjust as a $112,500,000 quarterback. Per Over The Cap, Rodgers' deal is set to run from 2023 through 2025.

Most would agree that Taron Johnson also deserves credit for making one of the most athletic interceptions of the year. Johnson managed to intercept the ball while rolling around Williams, snatching a ball that could have otherwise been caught.

At 2-4, the Jets have a two-week climb back to .500. Many fans have already written off their chances, but the Jets haven't given up. Mere hours after allowing a potential division-changing win to slip through their fingers, news has broken of the addition of wide receiver Davante Adams.

According to various insiders such as Ian Rapoport, Adams is on his way to join the Jets, leaving Las Vegas behind in his wake. The wide receiver will reportedly cost a third-round pick. There is a chance the deal could become a second-round pick, but it would take the Jets making at least the AFC Championship with the receiver intact.

The move leaves big questions for Garrett Wilson, whose top spot on the depth chart might be in jeopardy. Heading into Week 7, Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards, including nine catches for 110 yards and a touchdown on September 15. Will Aaron Rodgers find a new gear with another former teammate joining the roster?
